Tweet with your “FEET”

We can use Digital technology to “Tweet”but at the moment across Europe people are talking with their “Feet”.

I suspect if there are no changes over the next twelve months more people will be talking with their feet because ultimately its bodies blocking streets that mobilise public opinion and give people a sense of worth and value especially when they are searching for a purpose amidst the doom and the gloom that has become part of their every day lives. If you want to be heard, is the internet the platform to use? If I want to shout I physically can’t do it on the internet I think cyber space is too quiet for a protest. If you physically want to change the status quo you have to exercise your right to protest peacefully. There is nothing like a crowd banging on a politicians door to cause a bit of a stir in the boots of those with an elected duty to the people they represent. A mass protest across the continent has impact . You have to see people protesting in the flesh in order to realise the true reality that exists for a lot of victims of the recession.

It is too easy for numbers to become masked with no human face and no human dimension we can’t forget that each number is a person’s life it is not just a statistic. The solidarity protests today are an undercurrent of the mood that is enveloping Europe. It would be a mistake to overlook the  “power of the people to protest” especially those who feel they are being ignored or cast aside in the margins by politicians.

A young girl on Sky news summed up everything very simply when she said

I don’t care if the right or the left are in power
