Do you Love Me?
We all know the song, I can’t make you love me if you don’t . Having worked in marketing for twelve years I can tell you the same rule applies to selling a brand, product or service. You can’t make someone fall in love with your “Brand” if its not satisfying a need. Just like any human relationship there has to be a spark and an interest and a time to get to know if this really is what it says on the tin.
If you can deliver something special that will add real value to my life well as a consumer this could be the start of a very long and beautiful relationship
With any brand there is the” look” at me from across a crowded room and the voice in your head that says “buy me” quick. The attraction then leads to the, “falling in love” stage and then the take me home forever I’m just the thing that has been missing in your life adventure. You can’t buy love and you can’t buy a successful brand or “likes” for your Facebook page or the Lamborghini lifestyle without having something great to sell. Success follows a brand that meets the needs of the consumer. Inferior products don’t sell. If the soup is horrible it will stay on the shelf and if the car design is dated and not meeting the demands of a 21st century lifestyle it won’t leave the factory floor. The product has to be something you believe in and if you get the marketing mix right everything else will fall into place.
