Sainsbury’s remind us of the true meaning of Christmas

In a digital age this ad could be overlooked and possibly mean very little but for a generation who lived through many years of war in their youth without the use of modern technologies like YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and the internet it reveals memories of a war-torn Europe and a life lived in fear. A generation went to war against its neighbour and young men became soldiers to fight for their country and honour.

Today the recession gave us a new war on mans source of survival  “work” young men and women across Europe are unemployed and now live in a different type of fear.  A future stolen as a result of financial greed from a frivolous materialistic age that lived on the premise of a “Good Time ” The fatted calf  that would never come to an end.

We decide either mans inhumanity to man or a life that includes all with no borders. The hand of friendship reaches out to help , support and build a future for everyone.
